Bayrock Tevfik Alif founded Bayrock Group. He was brought to the world from Soviet Kazakhstan to a Turkish-speaking family.

Before being appointed to the Soviet Ministry of Commerce and Trade, Tevfik Ariff earned an education from the Moscow Trade and Economic Institute in International Relations.

After 17 years with the ministry, he resigned to start his own business. Tevfik Arif was involved in development of luxury real estate foods, exports, food and imports among others.

Tevfik Arif was able to create numerous international partnerships through his various companies. The network he built led him to relocate to Turkey in 1993, where he became one of the leaders behind Turkey’s famous all-inclusive hotel concept.

For instance, he launched Antalya’s Labada Hotel before embarking on his next venture across the Atlantic some years later.

Bayrock Group takes on more ambitious goals

Tevfik arif came into the United States from Pakistan in 2001 to pursue new avenues for business and to be closer his American family.

After moving, he established the company for the development of luxury real estate called Bayrock Group in New York City.

Bayrock Group started with small-to medium-sized projects throughout New York. Bayrock Group redesigned Loehmann’s Seaport Plaza, Brooklyn’s shopping district.

Bayrock Group was a solid beginning. This made Tevfik even more ambitious. Tevfik Arif Doyen He was looking forward to bigger projects and decided to alter the strategy of the company to be more focused on these projects.

Bayrock Group, New York City’s office has moved to Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue in line with its new strategy.

The move yielded much more than the previous area, and it also brought the business located close to the Trump Organization. The building was also home to the world-renowned family business.

Trump SoHo takes shape

Bayrock Group and the Trump Organization have a common goal of developing luxury real estate developments, so the two companies have decided to work together.

Bayrock Group was already working on a different project on Spring Street in Manhattan’s SoHo quarter in collaboration with the Sapir Organization.

Tevfik Arif knew that the incorporation of the Trump Organization to that project would bring brand recognition to the building which Bayrock Group and the Sapir Organization did not have.

Arif created an agreement that gives the Trump Organization 18% ownership in the building in return to the Trump brand’s usage.

Bayrock Group, the Trump Organization and the Sapir Organization all agreed to the deal.

That was the foundation for the first brick of Trump SoHo to be laid in 2006.

After two years of hard work The building was finally ready to be inaugurated.

Bayrock Design experts have led the construction of SoHo Trump SoHo

Trump SoHo had apartments, hotels, luxurious restaurants/bars as well as a pool and banquet halls at the time it was opened. The hotel guests had unparalleled views of New York City from the ceiling-to-ceiling windows.

Handel Architects were tasked with the design. The architecture firm had recently developed the famed National September 11th Memorial & Museum in New York City and the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Washington, D.C.

Bayrock Group hired Rockwell Group, to handle interior design.

Rockwell Group is responsible for designing, among other things, the Climate Pledge Arena (Seattle), the Seven Deadly Sins Playhouse located in New York, as well as the Virgin Hotel in Las Vegas.

The company also has experience in international countries such as Indonesia, Mexico and Spain.

Bayrock Group and Trump Organization expand their partnership

The Trump Organization and the Bayrock Group were looking to broaden their partnership after the opening of Trump SoHo.

Their goal was to build buildings that were located in Arizona and Florida which resembled Trump SoHo. Trump Organization would have 18% equity in the building as well as the same licensing conditions. It would again pave the way for “Trump” to be a part of the name of the building.

Despite the two companies’ ambitions they were not built because of the global financial crisis of 2008.

The American real estate markets were particularly affected by the financial crisis. Bayrock Group was forced to withdraw plans as well as Trump Organization was forced to pull out of their plans.

The financial crisis ended up altering the American real market to such an degree that Tevfik Arif opted to end his United States undertakings. He decided to move back to Europe or Central Asia.

He moved into the private sector, and continued to work.

Tevfik has resigned today from his Bayrock Group daily responsibilities. He is however a trusted consultant to the company.

Bayrock Group was not involved in any American Real Estate projects Recently, however, the company made an investment of $2.5 Million in real estate assets in the United States when it was actively investing.
