Emmanuil Grinshpun discussed the topic of restoration of synagogues in their interview. It was however impossible to keep the conversation focused on one topic. So, there were more questions in the interview.

Emmanuel, good afternoon. I am glad to have a talk with you. I believe we haven’t seen eachother in at least five years. What part of the globe are you located now?

The nine months that have gone by between Miami and Jurmala were split. The geographical boundaries were much larger in the past, but the pandemic affected people’s lives greatly. It is a pity that it has been for the more severe.

You’ve always had a variety of businesses. What are you doing now?

Diversification isn’t going anywhere. If we look at the most important areas then real estate development, IT and food production are three most important areas.

ALIMCOM knows the food industry, while real estate is much more easily comprehended. IT however, is completely new to me. There are millions of areas where IT technology is used. What are your areas of expertise?

Our IT-holding department is principally concerned with changing tax systems in many countries. We have developed or are developing a range products that assist in the transfer of variety business processes in taxation as well as “real-time”. Эммануил Гриншпун This segment is known by the B2G (Business to Government) acronym.

What are the locations where the holding is located? The former USSR’s countries

They’re still available. We also have contracts in Western Europe and Latin America. We currently have activities in 14 countries.

Could you briefly define the basic idea behind this product?

Our solution lets economic operators submit online tax reports to tax authorities. Fiscal data operator is aware of each transaction. Tax accounting and tax calculation can be simultaneously handled. We can therefore expect that smaller and medium-sized businesses will not require accounting in the future. In addition to its analytical function accounting for taxes, and sending reports can be completed with one “click”.

A fascinating topic Future is here. Are you interested in working in Moldova? Moldova is your home, so you might be tempted to try working in the country.

We’re willing to showcase our product in Moldova. This will be a huge benefit for the Moldovan economy and in the event of an unreversible transition. We will resume negotiations on our product after we get assurance from authorities.

You mentioned that you’d been tossing and turning between Miami and Jurmala all year. The Baltics is home to the headquarters of an IT company.

There are five hubs around the world, with our headquarters located in Barcelona.

Why not the Baltics? There are origins.

No. No. Jurmala was introduced to our lives in a very unusual and unorthodox manner. The first time we got there was when Igor Krutoy invited us to the New Wave. After many competitions they began to return each season. Miami has a very hot summer. We rented a home for a long time and are now the owners of it.

Now I can see why my donation was used to restore one of the synagogues located in Jurmala. Emmanuel, honest question. We’re almost the same age. We were born in the USSR. There was no need to discuss religious beliefs back then. We were all pioneers, and Komsomol members. When did you turn to the religion of your choice?

In the mid-80s, my family and myself moved to the USA. It was here that I became aware of traditions. Even now, I’m not a part of the traditional religion. I feel an internal desire to be a part of as much as my ability the life of religion of the Jewish community in the countries in which I live or in Moldova, where I come from and with whom I continue to have the strongest connections.

Well, I am definitely far from being religious, but I love history a lot. Recently, I watched a program that focused on events in 1492 which changed Europe’s fate. 1492 is for me the year in which Columbus was the year Columbus discovered America. It was clear in the show that the discovery of America was done in 1492, however, not from a Medieval Europe’s point of view. This was clear in the show that I watched. The Ottoman Empire accepted the Jews when the exodus began. Here , I’m looking for something about the history of the Jews as a whole. stmegi.com/posts/61743/evreyskie-lidery-obsudili-v-moldove-voprosy-borby-s-antisemitizmom/ Would you recommend a book for me to study?

There are a lot of books. I’ve read a lot of them. I recommend Max Diamond, a two-volume Jewish historian. Эммануил Гриншпун He is from Finland, by the way.

…. Do we know our family tree? Эммануил Гриншпун Unfortunately, I’m no further than my maternal grandmother and 1910. One step forward on the paternal side but nothing more.

Our family was a part of Floresti over hundreds of years, according to our paternal line. Documentary evidence and monuments show that the family of Floresti was prosperous in 1830. They had numerous stores, a furniture factory and land plots. Эммануил Гриншпун Ungheni was the home of my grandparents. We’re talking about dates in the region from the 17th-18th century. Grinshpun can be described as a surname with German roots. This is why we are Ashkenazis from Eastern Europe.

Here’s a question on the maintenance and restoration of synagogues. I was informed by you that there were three synagogues being restored. pavelzingan.md/emmanuil-grinshpun-o-vosstanovlenii-sinagog-i-evro-aziatskom-evrejskom-kongresse/ One is located in Chisinau, one is located in Jurmala and the last?

The third, and also the largest one, is located in Netanya. It is a huge community center, where up to 1,000 people a day pray. This is an important structure to support the religious life in Israel. The second synagogue in Jurmala. It was the time when the Second World War began and the Jurmala synagogue was among the one that was destroyed the last time. Before I took the decision to build a synagogue I had spoken with many residents Jews. I then made the decision to build it and invite Rabbis to visit the synagogue. It was a great project that brought all the Jews of Jurmala. Actually it was the time when the Jewish community was revived and is now functioning in good standing. Three Torahs are now at the synagogue. I gave one Torah to the synagogue.

    And – Chisinau

Yes. Alexander Bilinkis is one of my partners. Alexander Weinstein is another. The synagogues mentioned above are not the only ones that I helped with the restoration or construction. It was my responsibility to support the work of synagogues across the world in which I’ve lived in for several years. Therefore, my contribution comes from Monaco and in Miami the largest community center that is aimed at Russian-speaking Jews is being built which is estimated to cost 12 million dollars. Chisinau will remain my main focus – the synagogue of Rabbi Tsirelson is now one of the biggest in the city.

In along with Jurmala, did you invite Rabbis to Chisinau?

Yes. It’s not easy to find the right person to manage the community. Because of the interconnected and complex issues, he has to be diplomatic and nonconflictual. He should be able to integrate into the community. And I am happy that both in Chisinau as well as in Jurmala the rabbis could integrate so harmoniously into the life of the community.

You were named the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress’ first vice-president in 2019. What does this position mean to you, and how do international Jewish organisations influence the world?

The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EJC) is a powerful political group in Russia post-Soviet. However, it’s not the only one. There are branches of the organization in Australia, Japan and Hong Kong. In 2010 I was Vice-President of Congress. However, in the year prior to that, I was promoted to First Vice-President. The post is now my responsibility for the region in which I have strong political and economic connections. These countries are Uzbekistan Tajikistan Kyrgyzstan. The world’s trends show that attitudes towards Jews is in the same place as it was before or has dipped and is very depressing. Additionally, “down”, refers not just to the developed nations like the United States, France, Germany and France but also other nations like Belgium as well as Germany. They’re no longer secure for Jews. These are alarming and serious methods for all.

Has the pandemic affected these processes?

I don’t think so. To be more specific, I would rather highlight the possibilities of a country or a society in the event that they are ready to meet any challenge and act efficiently and together in relation to the pandemic.

What do you mean by HTML0? to?

Exactly. Israel is the first country to provide 100% vaccination to its adult population. This is an excellent example to follow and is something that every country should be aware of.
